Day 1: Drive from Chandigarh to Manali (Approx. 300 km / 8–9 hrs)

Your epic Ladakh journey begins as you drive from Chandigarh to Manali, a popular hill retreat nestled in the Himalayas. The scenic route offers riverside views, pine forests, and charming Himachali villages. Upon reaching Manali, check in to your hotel and relax. Spend the evening exploring Mall Road or preparing for the upcoming high-altitude adventure.

Day 2: Manali to Sarchu via Atal Tunnel & Baralacha La (Approx. 220 km / 7–8 hrs)

After breakfast, set out on an adventurous drive through the Atal Tunnel and Keylong towards Sarchu, a high-altitude desert plateau on the Manali-Leh highway. Cross dramatic mountain passes like Baralacha La and witness surreal landscapes. Reach Sarchu by late afternoon and check into your campsite. Relax, stay warm, and acclimatize to the altitude under a starlit sky.

Day 3: Sarchu to Leh – A Journey Through the High Himalayas (Approx. 250 km / 8–9 hrs)

Post breakfast, head toward Leh, crossing iconic passes like Nakee La, Lachulung La, and Tanglang La. You’ll also drive through the 21 Gata Loops, a famous stretch of zigzag roads. The landscapes shift dramatically from barren mountains to open plateaus. Upon arrival in Leh, check into your hotel and rest to acclimate to the higher elevation.

Day 4: Leh Local Sightseeing – Culture, Monasteries & Views

Start your day with local exploration in Leh. Visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Sankar Monastery. Drive to Thiksey Monastery for panoramic valley views and visit Shey Palace, the former summer capital of Ladakh. In the evening, enjoy a stroll through Leh Market and shop for Tibetan crafts, prayer flags, and souvenirs. Overnight stay in Leh.

Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (Approx. 130 km / 5–6 hrs)

Today, drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, the world’s highest motorable road at 18,380 feet. Witness incredible panoramic views as you descend into the lush valley of Nubra, known for its contrasting desert landscape. Visit Diskit Monastery and its giant Maitreya Buddha statue. Later, head to Hunder and enjoy a camel ride on the sand dunes of this cold desert. Overnight stay in Nubra at a hotel or camp.

Day 6: Explore Turtuk (Optional) or Relax in Nubra Valley

Spend a relaxed day in Nubra, or opt for an excursion to Turtuk, India’s last village on the Indo-Pak border. Located on the banks of the Shyok River, Turtuk is culturally unique and incredibly scenic. Return to Nubra by evening. For those who stay back, enjoy a peaceful day in Hunder or explore nearby villages. Campfire and stargazing make for a perfect ending to your day.

Day 7: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route (Approx. 170 km / 6–7 hrs)

Today’s drive takes you to the magical Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok route. Known for its ever-changing shades of blue and turquoise, Pangong is a high-altitude lake that stretches into China. Spend your afternoon soaking in its beauty and clicking postcard-perfect photos. Stay overnight in lakeside camps and witness a surreal sunset by the lake.

Day 8: Pangong to Leh via Chang La (Approx. 160 km / 6 hrs)

Wake up to the sunrise at Pangong and enjoy a peaceful breakfast. Begin your return to Leh via Chang La, another high mountain pass. En route, visit Hemis Monastery—one of the most important religious centers in Ladakh. Arrive in Leh by evening and enjoy your final night in the capital of Ladakh.

Day 9: Departure from Leh or Begin Return Journey to Chandigarh

Depending on your travel plan, either take a flight from Leh or begin the return drive to Chandigarh via the same route or the Rohtang-Manali corridor. Carry back unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s raw landscapes, peaceful valleys, and spiritual aura.
